When midlands sports impresario, entrepreneur and owner of Whack 'n' Splat 'em second hand pump wagons emporium, Big Dean Sideburn, saw a news article about a lost regiment of black orcs, he thought his dreams of owning a blood bowl franchise might be close to fruition. The Black orcs and their subsidiaries had recently been rediscovered in the remote desolation of St Andrews. It seems they were posted there during the great war and had absolutely no idea that it had ended nearly thirty years ago. They were still resolutely attacking anything that tried to cross near St Andrews field, which, fortunately, due to its inhospitable location, was no one of any importance.
The powers that be had decided to put a stop to all this nonsense but all efforts to convince the black orcs that the war was over had been met with shocking acts of gratuitous and largely unnecessary violence perpetrated against peace envoys of all races. Nothing, it seemed, could convince these generational fanatics of extreme savagery that peace was the way forward until Big Dean offered a potential solution. In Big Dean's eyes, these blorcs had all the hallmarks of a great blood bowl team, based on their propensity for random and often very imaginative brutality. Two years ago, Big Dean set up huge cabal vision screens around St Andrews and showed a constant stream of ABBL game highlights. The blood, outrageous violence and occasionally exciting play intrigued the Blorcs and with the addition of some subliminal mind control, Big Dean's suggestion to them of joining his new team became more and more interesting. Finally they agreed to leave the wasteland and after try outs, the the most pitiless and barbarous individuals were formed into a team....The Mileham Villans!!!
Following last season's minor successes the expectations of the fans has grown beyond all reasonable levels. The entire goblin staff was scapegoated and sacked and a new batch of eager goblins hired at a quarter of the cost. The Mileham Villans roll on to season 8!!!
